It is possible to recover a Windows product key from the BIOS using Powershell WMIC commands:

Enter the command below (including the brackets) into an admin PowerShell instance:
(Get-WmiObject -query 'select * from SoftwareLicensingService').OA3xOriginalProductKey 

The response will be the key stored in the BIOS or an error. Useful for OEM machines without stickers. Not so useful for refurb units.
