Configuring the Windows Time service to use an external time source
Posted by on 03 September 2015 10:39 AM

If a server doesn't have the correct time you can use the second fix it, 'Configuring the Windows Time Service to use an External time Source', from this site - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/816042

Change Server1 to uk.pool.ntp.org,0x1 and remove server 2, the next 3 fields can be left as they are unless you have had to run this multiple times already, then see below.

If the server doesn't keep the correct time, we found this with Midas 2, the fix it should be run again but this time set the SpecialPollInterval to a lower number, we used 90. This means that every 90 seconds it will check the time with the time source.

Then change the value in the folllowing registry key from 5 to A

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Config\AnnounceFlags
