Windows 10 Update Error

Windows Update errors are most often caused by corruption in the update catalog or corruption in the software they are trying to update.

To clear the update catlog

net stop wuauserv
net stop bits
rename c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.bak
net start wuauserv
net start bits

Try to re-run the Windows update.

Alternatively it maybe an issue with the Windows Defender definitions 

"%programfiles%\Windows defender\mpcmdrun.exe" -removedefinitions -all (This removes the current definitions)

"%programfiles%\Windows defender\mpcmdrun.exe" -signatureupdate (This re-downloads the latest definition file)

Re-run the Windows update
